It’s Easy Being Green: Philly Greenfest Pictorial Recap

Greenfest, the largest environmental festival in the Philadelphia area took over Headhouse Square and South Street on Sunday, September 11. With more than 150 vendors and exhibits, Greenfest is the place to go to learn about sustainability while having fun. Philly Happening was on hand to peruse the vendor tables, partake in some of the green activities, and document some of the festival’s highlights.

Beacycled, founded by Meredith Greimel of Philadelphia, led workshops at Greenfest to teach participants how to upcycle forgotten containers (such as flea market mugs) as vessels for succulents and cactus arrangements. http://www.beaucycled.com/

BugYum was on hand to dish out tasty mealworms in flavors such as Southwest Chile, Ranch, and Kettlecorn. BugYum was founded by a Science teacher in Roxborough in 2013. BugYum is a public awareness brand that advocates for bugs as an additional human food source, but also demonstrates how they can be yummy.  http://www.bugyum.com/pr
